A large-format overpainting titled “Oh, Großmutter, was hast Du...” (Oh, Grandmother, what…) was added to the portfolio. A digital improvisation on a portrait of CR’s grandmother forms the basis for a second improvisation with oil-pastels on canvas print (80×120 cms). In recent years, CR has already experimented with smaller works from the family archive, such as in the group of works “Vom Verschwinden” (“Of vanishing”). This one is the first large-format work that has hit the home stretch without being completely painted over afterwards because CR was not satisfied with the result.
The title is obviously borrowed from the fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood” by the Brothers Grimm and reflects the artist’s first reaction to this sketchy work, which is partly reminiscent of comics or caricatures.
